Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine
A visit combining three of the most important sites of ancient Rome. Here you can find what to book, where to enter and how to get there without wasting time.
Before you go
The Colosseum requires a reserved entry time. Official tickets go on sale 30 days before the visit date. The combined Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine ticket allows one Colosseum entry and one entry to the Forum-Palatine archaeological area within 24 hours. Full Experience options are also available, valid for two consecutive days with additional access.
How to get there from Vestige Home
From Battistini, take Metro A towards Anagnina and get off at Termini. At Termini, change to Metro B/B1 towards Laurentina/Rebibbia/Jonio and get off at Colosseo. Since 2025, Colosseo station is also served by Metro C and provides an interchange with Metro B; always check for works or service changes before travelling.
Where to enter
For the Colosseum, follow the entry time and entrance shown on your ticket: admission is in your name and you must carry an identity document. For the Roman Forum and Palatine archaeological area, check your ticket and the official website for the entrance to use that day. Do not rely on a random entrance: the route depends on the ticket type purchased.
How to visit the Palatine and Roman Forum
If you have the combined ticket, these are not separate attractions that you need to buy again. They are part of the same archaeological complex. A simple sequence is: Colosseum at your reserved time → Arch of Titus/Roman Forum → Palatine → exit towards Via di San Gregorio or the Forum area, depending on the route open that day. Allow at least half a day if you want to see all three sites without rushing.
What to bring
Comfortable shoes, water and sun protection: the Forum and Palatine are extensive and mostly outdoors. The ground is uneven and the visit involves more walking than it may seem from a map.
The easiest route from Vestige Home
